Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team and support the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
Working closely with the Finance Director youll gain exposure across end-to-end finance including Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Financial Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their finance career who wants hands-on experience strong mentorship and clear development pathways.
For the right candidate the role includes study support towards CPA.
Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Assist with account reconciliations including bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and process invoices payments and expense claims
- Support month-end activities including reporting preparation
- Assist with budgeting forecasting and basic FP&A analysis & reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Respond to internal & external finance queries and support stakeholders across the business
- Assist with audits and compliance requirements as needed
- Support continuous improvement of finance processes and controls
Qualifications :
Youre organised detail-oriented and keen to learn. You take pride in getting the fundamentals right and are comfortable seeking clarity and feedback to do your best work.
Youll ideally bring:
- 13 years experience in an assistant accountant finance officer or similar role
- A degree in Accounting Finance Commerce or a related field (completed or in progress) is preferred but not essential
- Working experience in a finance team if required
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work
- Confidence using Excel Google Sheets and finance systems (experience with accounting software ie. Xero is a plus)
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn from feedback
- Interest in progressing towards CPA or equivalent professional accreditation
