About the Company

Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) is the national body representing over 16000 members in the speech pathology profession. SPA supports and regulates the ethical clinical and professional standards of its members as well as lobbying and advocating on behalf of all Australians living with communication and swallowing difficulties.

We are seeking a dynamic Conference and Events Lead to provide strategic leadership and operational delivery of Speech Pathology Australias national conference branch events and National Officedelivered events. This role ensures high-quality financially sustainable and strategically aligned events that support the Associations objectives.

About the Role

As the Conference and Events Lead you will:

Drive the strategic direction of our events portfolio aligning activities with our Strategic Plan.

Oversee the planning and delivery of the annual national conference including program development sponsorship marketing and logistics.

Provide governance and functional oversight for branch and National Office events ensuring consistency quality and risk management.

Manage budgets and financial sustainability through effective cost control and revenue generation.

Lead and develop a collaborative high-performing Conference & Events team.

Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders branches committees sponsors and suppliers.

About You

You are an experienced events professional with a passion for delivering exceptional conferences and events. You thrive in a leadership role and enjoy balancing strategic oversight with hands-on delivery.

To succeed in this role you will have:

Tertiary qualifications in Event Management.

Proven experience delivering large-scale conferences and events end-to-end.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities.

Financial acumen and risk management expertise.

High-level written and verbal communication skills.

Strong digital capability including experience with event and data management systems.

Experience with EventsAir and/or iMIS platforms. (Desirable)

Experience delivering events for health or allied health professionals. (Desirable)

This is a full-time 12-month fixed term contract. This role based in Melbourne with flexibility for remote work. Occasional interstate travel and out-of-hours work may be required
