The purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate the operational and day-to-day management of accounting and reporting activities within the Finance Accounting and Reporting team. This includes ensuring accurate month-end close and managing financial accounting and reporting. The role involves analysing reviewing and approving team outputs implementing changes and policies while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.Your new role
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to support business operations
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in financial accounting and reporting processes
Manage day-to-day delivery of team services to meet specific needs of the organisation
Provide technical expertise and guidance on financial matters
Maintain compliance with policies procedures and regulations
Provide financial management leadership in areas such as tax financial reporting and treasury management to the finance team
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for the organisation and for the regulator
Support the development and maintenance of financial systems and procedures
About you:
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Work experience in Insurance accounting
Significant financial control and reporting experience in a relevant role post qualification
People management financial services and/or accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility
Experience in managing a team working with the regional team leading and supporting continuous improvement of dynamic reporting processes
Prior experience in review or preparation of insurance financial accounts compliance with accounting and regulatory reporting requirements
