Senior Systems Engineer

Reporting into the IT Manager this role will take accountability for identity and access management capability across the environment with a particular focus on Entra ID policy design configuration and governance. On a daily basis you will manage access provisioning role based controls and identity lifecycle processes while ensuring security and compliance standards are maintained. Alongside this you will administer Microsoft 365 platforms including SharePoint Teams and Azure ID to enhance collaboration and user experience.

From an infrastructure standpoint you will operate across a hybrid technology landscape spanning on prem servers and cloud platforms. You will support platform performance resilience and scalability while contributing to infrastructure uplift initiatives that strengthen operational capability. This will involve working across compute storage and endpoint environments aligned to both operational and project deliverables.

The position also carries a strong transformation component supporting modern workplace and infrastructure improvement programs. You will partner with internal teams to deliver platform enhancements identity frameworks and environment upgrades positioning yourself as the technical lead across infrastructure and access domains.

Responsibilities

• Own Identity and Access Management capability across Entra ID
• Design and configure access policies and governance frameworks
• Manage identity lifecycle provisioning and role based access controls
• Administer Microsoft 365 including SharePoint Teams and Azure ID
• Support modern workplace initiatives enhancing end user experience
• Maintain hybrid infrastructure across on prem and cloud platforms
• Lead infrastructure uplift and transformation initiatives
• Partner with security and support teams on platform improvements
• Act as escalation point for infrastructure and identity incidents
• Drive documentation standards and operational maturity

Candidate Profile

You are a Senior Systems Engineer with deep technical capability across identity Microsoft 365 and hybrid infrastructure environments. You bring hands on expertise across Entra ID access governance and collaboration platforms combined with experience operating across both physical server estates and cloud services. Your background reflects strong platform ownership and the ability to manage integrated infrastructure environments.

You operate with structure and accountability bringing a process driven approach to delivery. You are comfortable running initiatives end to end ensuring governance documentation and technical standards are maintained. Balancing BAU and project priorities comes naturally and you are confident operating as an escalation point across complex infrastructure environments.

Experience within mid sized organisations will be highly regarded particularly across sectors such as distribution healthcare medical or MSP environments. You bring a positive can do mindset and a willingness to step into lead capacity when required contributing both technically and culturally to the broader technology function.
