Job Summary

Position Overview

The Vice President of the Product Development Group (PDG) will provide strategic and operational leadership for a global multi-disciplinary product development organization primarily located in United States Germany and China. This role is accountable for driving innovation execution excellence and lifecycle success for VSDs Dialyzer business ($1.2B revenue) as well as leading product development capabilities across additional Streams including Home Critical Care and future portfolio areas. The VP will work cross-functionally with other senior leaders to shape and execute the long-term strategy for VSDs product offerings ensuring alignment with business priorities and global market needs.

Key Responsibilities

Global Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and develop a high-performing global R&D / Product Development team with footprint in the US Germany and China.
  • Define create and execute long-term product development strategy aligned with VSDs growth priorities and portfolio roadmap.
  • Drive a culture of innovation collaboration accountability and continuous improvement with a focus on solving complex challenges. Empower teams to collaborate across geographies and functions to deliver best-in-class products.

Product Development Ownership

  • Provide executive end-to-end leadership of all product development activities for the VS Dialyzer portfolio ensuring timely high-quality delivery of new products line extensions and technology upgrades. Design owner of all dialyzer of the Design History File.
  • Establish and expand development pathways for dialyzers within other therapeutic Streams (e.g. Home Critical Care) in collaboration with cross-functional business and technology teams to shape the future of VSDs product offering.
  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory quality and clinical requirements across all development programs overseeing the successful navigation of stringent industry requirements and milestones.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with key functions including Marketing Quality Regulatory Affairs PMO Advanced Technology Clinical Research Intellectual Property Finance Contract Manufacturing (CMO) Procurement Manufacturing and supply chain Manufacturing technology and industrialization and others to ensure seamless execution and alignment.
  • Serve as an executive stakeholder for stage-gate reviews portfolio prioritization and cross-functional decision-making. Ensure cross-functional alignment and coordination across all stages of product development from ideation to commercialization.
  • Ensure system level treatment requirements are achieved through Dialyzer interfaces with technology from other Value Streams (like VS Machines) meeting system-level treatment requirements and ensuring a holistic integrated product offering.

Financial & Portfolio Management

  • Own and lead the global Product Development budget ensuring investments align with strategic priorities and deliver measurable value.
  • Drive cost-effective execution of all NPI programs and ensure that products meet defined cost targets throughout development and deliver value to the business and customers.
  • Monitor portfolio performance risks and resource allocation to maximize ROI and ensure that all initiatives are aligned with broader corporate goals.

People Leadership

  • Recruit develop and retain top-tiertalent across geographies.
  • Build organizational capability through mentoring coaching and structured development plans ensuring that teams are prepared to take on increased responsibility and challenges.
  • Foster high engagement and a unified global culture across teams ensuring alignment with the FME mission values and strategic goals. Promote an inclusive environment where diverse ideas and perspectives thrive.

Qualifications & Desired Experience

Education

  • Masters degree in engineering Chemistry Biological Sciences or a related technical discipline (PhD preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in end-to-end product development from concept through global commercialization.
  • Proven track record leading global multiple-locations cross-cultural product development teams in a highly regulated industry (medical devices preferred).
  • Demonstrated success leading large complex product portfolios and delivering innovative products to market.
