Job Summary

The Role

  • The post holder will work under the direction of the QPS Manager in the implementation of the objections of national quality and patient safety strategies (National HSE Patient Safety Strategy) and DSE Regional QRPS priorities into operationally effective quality and patient safety improvement programs.
  • Support the coordination and implementation and roll out of Safe Guarding policies Children First Act 2015 Assisted Decision Making Act 2015 and associated legislation and polices as required in line with integrated governance structures across the Region.

1. Professional Qualifications Experience etc.

a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:

An academic award in Healthcare Risk or Quality Management in Healthcare at level 6 (or higher) on the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) or other level 6 (or higher) qualification as relevant to the role and duties of the office

OR

A professional qualification in a health-related area or other relevant to the role and duties of the office

AND

Significant experience in the area of consumer affairs complaints management patient advocacy or quality & patient safety.

AND

Experience of collaborating with multiple stakeholders in leading on patient safety projects/initiatives within a complex environment.

b) The candidate must possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

Post specific requirements

  • Experience of implementing and working within legal and regulatory requirements related to Quality and Patient Safety and monitoring compliance with same.
  • Experience of Incident and Risk Management
  • Experience and evidence of managing and working in partnership and collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts including patient and service user representative groups.
  • Experience of working collaborating and effectively with multiple stakeholders in leading on patient experience and engagement initiatives within a complex environment
