Patient Care Assistant II

Pay

HK$9882 - HK$12350.5 per month

Up to 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist therapists to prepare and carry out treatment programs and educational activities for patients.

2. Assist in setting up and assembly of equipment and prepare patients for assessment and treatment.

3. Carry out specific patient assessment and investigation.

4. Provide technical assistance and observation during care process/examination procedures.

5. Provide technical assistance in the production of splints pressure garments and assistive devices for patients.

6. Perform independent operation of computers word and data processing.

7. Assist in the preparation of computerized visual and written training materials audiovisual aids and software installation for patient education and rehabilitation activities.

8. Assist in teaching computer skills for patients education and work rehabilitation.

9. Perform triage out-patient registration appointment booking receptionist duties and handle patient enquiries.

10. Manage patient record system and retrieve patient data from in-house computer systems.

11. Collect verify and compile statistics.

12. Assist in inventory control and procurement process.

13. Clean and sterilize equipments apparatus instruments containers and working areas.

14. Perform procedures and maintain documentation to comply with the requirement for quality safety occupational health & environmental protection.

15. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Entry Requirements:

1. Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent (see Remarks); AND

2. Completion of structured departmental training (see Remarks); AND

3. Good command of English and Chinese written and spoken.

Preferred Attributes:

1. Knowledge and skills / certificate(s) in woodwork or metal work or industrial sewing machine or design.

2. Knowledge in computer applications including MS Word Excel PowerPoint Access Chinese word processing and simple multimedia programs (e.g. Flash or similar software).

3. Interested to work in hospital with patients.

2. Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2) if find suitable will be employed to undergo at least 6 months on the job training including the structured departmental training. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.

3. Serving staff who completed F.3/ S.3 with at least 2-year care-related experience may also apply. Candidates who have completed the JUMP program organized by the HA are considered to have attained F.3/S.3 level.

4. Appointment will be on contract terms for 1 year.

5. The required number of working hour is 19.5 hours per week.
