Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Total Rewards the Benefits & Absence Analyst (Workday) will contribute to both Workday implementation activities and broader total rewards projects with a strong focus on how programs intersect across the employee lifecycle (e.g. vacation leaves STD/LTD).

Over the next two years you will support the configuration testing and deployment of Workday functionality across Benefits Absence and related Total Rewards programs. Working closely with Total Rewards Payroll People & Culture and HRIS teams you will translate policies programs and practices into Workday solutions. This role is ideal for someone with solid knowledge of benefits and absence programs a systems mindset and the ability to think creatively and critically about how programs should operate in a modern HRIS environment within a large complex organization.

Duties

  • Workday Configuration & Program Enablement: Lead and contribute to the configuration and maintenance of Workday Benefits and Absence modules ensuring alignment with Total Rewards programs policies collective agreements and legislative requirements.
  • Program & Policy Translation: Partner with Total Rewards and HR stakeholders to interpret and assess benefits absence and related policies (e.g. vacation STD/LTD leave programs) and translate into practical system configuration.
  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Collaborate with key stakeholders to collect requirements document configuration decisions and maintain accurate project workbooks.
  • Testing & Defect Resolution: Participate in end-to-end testing identify defects and support resolution to ensure accurate program delivery.
  • Project Execution & Special Initiatives: Contribute to broader Total Rewards HRIS and Payroll project work including special projects related to program redesign policy changes or process improvements.
  • Training & Knowledge Transfer: Develop training materials and provide guidance to users and testers within Workday.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in benefits administration absence management and/or total rewards role.
  • Experience with Workday HCM including configuration testing and validation of Benefits and/or Absence modules.
  • Strong understanding of benefits programs absence policies and relevant legislation or collective agreements.
  • Ability to think analytically about program/policy design and system impacts across Total Rewards areas.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel. 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and build alignment in complex environments.
  • Experience in healthcare or broader public sector considered an asset.
