We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef specializing in Pan Asian cuisine to join our culinary team in Kathmandu Nepal. As the Sous Chef you will play a crucial role in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests while supporting the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations.
- Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and maintaining high culinary standards
- Create and develop innovative Pan Asian menu items incorporating local and seasonal ingredients
- Ensure food quality presentation and consistency meet restaurant standards
- Manage and train kitchen staff fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Implement and maintain food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist in inventory management cost control and budget adherence
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction
- Participate in menu planning recipe development and food costing
- Stay current with culinary trends and techniques in Pan Asian cuisine
Qualifications :
- Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role preferably in high-volume restaurants or hotels
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in various Pan Asian cuisines including Chinese Japanese Thai and Vietnamese
- Proficiency in Pan Asian cooking techniques ingredients and flavor profiles
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Proven experience in menu planning recipe development and food costing
- Proficient in kitchen management systems and inventory control
- Valid food safety certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Nepali is a plus
- Creativity and passion for culinary innovation
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
