Position Summary
The Materials Manager is responsible to oversee all operations and functions of the warehouse and distribution center that includes but may not be limited to: Receiving Warehouse Management Order fulfillment and Shipping of product to internal and external customers. The Materials Manager is also responsible for all Tooling. People Safety Performance and Continuous Improvement. |
Job Duties and Responsibilities
1 | Manage and create internal controls such as SOPs and ensure all procedures are implemented enforced and updated as necessary | | |
2 | Create and monitor daily weekly monthly annual productivity and metrics of workload and output of the warehouse to ensure that the department is successful in supporting the demands and requirements of the business | | |
3 | Ensure that each department within the warehouse has streamlined processes and communication structure | | |
4 | Implement processes and communication structure for each warehouse department to interact with external departments | | |
5 | Communicate with senior management regarding warehouse operations of the company | | |
6 | Oversee and manage supervisory personnel in addition to all warehouse and stockroom staff | | |
7 | Motivate organize and encourage teamwork within warehouse employees to ensure productivity targets are met or exceed | | |
8 | Ensure employees wear the adequate personal protective equipment | | |
9 | Identify potential safety hazards and correct them | | |
10 | Ensure all stockrooms satellites and back-shops supported by the Distribution Center are stocked with products and supplies based on business needs | | |
11 | Ensure all Customer Furnished Goods are managed based on customer requires as supported by the appropriate GTA SOW or Airworthiness agreements | | |
12 | Ensure all Customer Furnished Goods are processed within the customers inventory control systems as required by the customer | | |
13 | Ensure all assigned employees are trained to access customer systems as required by the Customer | | |
14 | Keep control inventory levels by daily physical cycle counts and semi-annual physical inventories; reconcile with current inventory management system | | |
15 | Prepare reports and statistics on a daily weekly and monthly basis | | |
16 | Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage and shipping/ receiving requirements. Plan future capacity requirements. | | |
17 | Recommend improvement to procedure standards | | |
18 | Assist any other departments and perform any other duties as requested | | |

20 | Monitor daily weekly monthly annual productivity and metrics of workload and output of the warehouse to ensure that the department is successful in supporting the demands and requirements of the business | | |

22 | Responsible for coaching mentoring and developing teams to ensure strong succession plans are in place. | | |
23 | Initiate and approves personnel actions including PTO pay changes performance appraisals promotions transfers and leaves of absence. | | |
24 | Interview and select employees; and provide direction for departmental personnel. | | |
25 | Work with Materials Planning to properly allocate materials in accordance with customer location and stock rooms capacities | | |
26 | All other duties as required | | |
