Job Description:

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) manages TD Banks non-trading market risk liquidity risk and consolidated capital addition TBSM operates the Banks funding funds transfer pricing and investment management programs.

The Enterprise Liquidity Risk Management team in Treasury is responsible for the measurement and management of sufficient cash investments and funding ensuring the Bank may operate effectively during both normal and stressed market conditions. The department develops policies and frameworks and identifies measures and forecasts the Banks liquidity risk drivers and requirements taking actions to maintain a sound risk profile. The team works with partners within Treasury and across the Bank globally to ensure liquidity risks are managed and understood.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The selected intern candidate will be a valuable member of the Liquidity Risk Management team working to ensure the projects initiatives and developments affecting liquidity risk measurement and management are delivered successfully. This individual will proactively support solutions development offer critical thinking and technical acumen to adapt to a fluid and changing work environment. They will be expected to provide analytics and reporting capabilities to assist with the management of the Banks liquidity risk.

  • Demonstrated Strong curiosity and proactivity to Learn In areas such as: Treasury Risk liquidity financial market operations retail and/or wholesale banking products.
  • Assist with business planning documentation and reporting .
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis forecasts and business cases in support of business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects or deliver programs.
  • Identify opportunities for continued enhancements to business processes and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Implement process improvement.
  • Participate in transformation and innovation activities to ensure TD businesses effectively and efficiently leverage data and technology to drive better sustainable business value.

Competencies and Personal Qualities:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Identify as an Indigenous person (First Nations Métis and Inuit communities)
  • Be enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program with major focus in Finance Capital Market Risk Management Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • We will work with you to align your career and educational interests with our corporate function opportunities
  • Be a Canadian citizen permanent resident of Canada or legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Be interested or curious about a career in Finance Treasury Risk Management or Audit
  • Adept at using productivity tools and end-user software (such as MS Office suite).
  • Experience with more complex analytics tools would be an asset
  • Record of academic achievement and demonstrated leadership with community involvement
  • Previous work experience
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts
  • Ability to take initiative and balance multiple tasks.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Demonstrated strong judgement decision-making and analytical capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to engage colleagues business partners and stakeholders

Skills & Experience Requirements:

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite working knowledge in JIRA/Confluence; strong programming skills such as in SQL are must-have.
  • Experience in Tableau and Alteryx will be considered as plus.
  • Designation or current enrollment in CFA FRM is much desirable.
