Job Summary
Overview:
Valid Ohio drivers license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection insurance eligibility driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Essential Functions:
- Supervises and directs the activities of grounds maintenance personnel. Ensures timely and efficient completion of assigned work. Maintains records and submits monthly service and quality assurance reports.
- Oversees the design installation and maintenance of the campus landscape. Specifies plant material with seasonality in mind. Reviews major landscape proposals and makes recommendations regarding plant selection and use.
- Monitors the quality of work performed by grounds personnel providing feedback and coaching as needed.
- Develops and implements a number of maintenance programs. Acts as liaison between organizations for neighborhood beautification projects.
- Specifies and coordinates the purchase of tools equipment and materials needed for daily operations and special projects. Accountable for the operating budget.
- Ensures compliance with safety regulations and guidelines and takes appropriate action to address any safety concerns.
Education Requirement:
Associates Degree in Horticulture or related field preferred.
Licensure Requirement:
Valid Ohio drivers license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection insurance eligibility driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
Certifications:
ODA certified pesticide applicator in turf and ornamental pest control required.
Skills:
- Knowledge of horticulture of OSHA standards and safety management.
- Robust oral and written communication skills.
Experience:
- Five years of job related experience required.
- Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
