Job Summary
Job Description and Responsibilities
Rocky Mountain Steel Mills is seeking a Production Supervisor for our Seamless Mill located in Pueblo position offers the opportunity to lead dynamic teams foster innovation and drive efficiency in our production line. As a key player within our company you will collaborate closely with cross-functional departments including quality assurance and safety to maintain high standards and meet production targets.
- Perform daily mill inspections with an eye for safety and productivity issues coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures
- Use LEAN manufacturing tools to engage employees to continuously improve mill operations
- Schedule and maintain shift manpower for mill operations and training
- Onboard new bargaining employees ensure that adequate training is taking place and complete timely 720 probation performance evaluations
- Responsible for managing an operational and quality team during manufacturing operations and while performing operational maintenance of mechanical equipment including hydraulic pneumatic electrical and mechanical systems
- Maintain necessary inventory of mill supplies interface with storehouse and vendors as needed for resupply and trials
- Maintain and correct electronic and written records including shift performance heat traceability and quality assurance
- Maintain coaching documents (Note to Self) for all conversations surrounding attendance behavior safety and performance
- Maintain KRONOS Pay System by reviewing editing and approving employee timecards daily
Requirements
- Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent experience
- Three years of industrial supervisory experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel
- Previous experience using Oracle
- Excellent planning time management and organizational skills
- Proven ability to organize and motivate production teams for safe high-quality results and maximum productivity
- Demonstrated initiative to identify areas propose and initiate solutions
- Comfortable working a rotating (days and nights) schedule as well as holidays and weekends as needed
