Senior Technical Application Engineer

Key about your role

As a Senior Technical Application Engineer in the Lifetime TAM team you are one of the key experts responsible for the stabilitysecurityand performance of the Lifetime platform for multiple Life & Pension customers.

In this senior role you:

• Take ownership of complex incidents and problems on the Lifetime platform acting as a technical escalation point for colleagues and stakeholders.

• Guard and improve platform uptime and resilience implementing structural fixes and preventive measures for issues such as disk capacity problems CPUbottlenecksand Tomcat outages.

• Designplanand execute patching and upgrade cycles for the underlying technology stack (Windows Server Oracle SQL ServerTomcatand related components) balancing riskdowntimeand compliance requirements.

• Manage the full lifecycle of client and server certificates including planning renewals coordinating withcustomersand ensuring secure deployment across environments.

• Oversee webservice provisioning for customers on IIS including whitelisting network/securityconfigurationsand end-to-end technical validation.

• Drive capacity management and monitoring: tuning thresholds improvingdashboardsand automating responses where possible.

• Play a key role in external audits penetrationtestsand disaster recovery/failover tests: preparing evidence leading technical execution and following up on remediation actions.

• Contribute to the standardization and automation of TAM processes (runbooks scripts tooling) to ensure consistent repeatable operations.

• Work closely with product development SaaS platformteamsand customer teams toalign onchangesreleasesand longer-term roadmap items.

• Coach and mentor junior engineers sharing your knowledge through documentation pair troubleshooting and knowledge sessions.

You are comfortable making decisions in complex situations keeping the overview under pressure and balancing customer expectationssecurityand operational risk.

• The team consists of highly skilled IT professionals with strongexpertisein infrastructure databases middleware and security combined with deep knowledge of the Life & Pension domain.

• You have at least a completed HBO Beta oracademicdegree in an IT-related field.

• You have 5 years of experience in technical application management infrastructure engineering or a similarrolemanaging business-critical applications.

• You have strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and enterprise databases (Oracle and/or SQL Server) including performance and troubleshooting.

• You are proficient with application and web servers such as Tomcat and IIS and understand how they interact with networks securitycomponentsand the application layer.

• You have practical experience with security hardeningpatchingand vulnerability management especially in regulated or audited environments.

• You are familiar with certificates (PKI)networkingand firewalls and know how to work with concepts like whitelistingproxiesand load balancers.

• You can script and automate (for example with PowerShellBashor Python) and are comfortable working with monitoring and deployment tools.

• Experience in the financial services or pension/insurance domain is a strong plus.

• You are analyticalstructuredand pragmatic able to quickly understand complex situations and define clear next steps.

• You are a communicative team player: you work closely with colleagues andstakeholders andcan translate technical issues into business impact.

• You are willing to work outside regular office hours andto participatein the standby/on-callrota.

A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and reference check are part of the application process. All employees follow information security training and have basic information security responsibilities.

• A monthly gross salary between 4.000 and 5.900 based on 40 hours per week.

• 8% holiday allowance of your total gross salary.
• A profit share.

• Travel reimbursement: Receive a mileage allowance of 0.23 per km or an NS Business Card which can also be used for personal travel
• 24 holiday days (with the option to buy extra) and 7 inclusion days which can be exchanged with fixed Dutch national holidays allowing you to take them when you like.
• Flexibility in working environment. As part of a hybrid working team you will work partly from home and partly from the office. If you work in the office a free lunch is waiting for you every day. If you work from home you will receive a working from home allowance ( 4 net per day) and internet allowance ( 35 net per month).
• The possibility of working remotely from abroad for up to 2 months per year.
• The possibility to lease a bike through our bike leasing program.
• A one-year contract that subject to satisfactory performance will be converted into a permanent contract.
