About Butterworth Hospital

Butterworth Hospital offers a wide range of advanced medical surgical and specialty care services that allow the urban campus in downtown Grand Rapids to serve as a major tertiary and quaternary referral center for West Michigan and beyond. These services include the only Regional Burn Center and Level I Trauma Center in West Michigan. Butterworth Hospital is a clinical leader in cardiovascular cancer obstetrics and gynecology orthopedics neurosciences trauma and emergency care services among many others.
The Pharmacy Department provides pharmacy services for Inpatients ED Surgery and the Infusion Center at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital.
Scope of Work
- Prepares supplies / medication including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist. May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.
- Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
- Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
- Delivers pharmacy prepared medications controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Associates Degree
- Hospital experience Preferred
- LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp - STATEMI State of Michigan Must obtain full licensure w/in 90 days of hire. Upon Hire required And
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATEMI State of Michigan 90 Days required
- CRT-Pharmacy Technician Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required Or
- CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Healthcareer Association Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required
Ideal candidate will possess both Full Pharmacy Technician License and Certification such as PTCB or ExCPT
IV or Inpatient experience would be a big plus
