Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technician (CST) to support Surgical Services in a hospital setting. This is a backfill position requiring a dependable and skilled surgical tech with strong knowledge of sterile technique and operating room procedures.

The CST will assist in a variety of surgical specialties and may also support clinic responsibilities as needed. The ideal candidate must be flexible with call coverage and comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments equipment and supplies
Prepare patients for surgery (washing shaving disinfecting incision sites)
Maintain sterile field during surgical procedures
Assist surgeons during procedures across multiple specialties
Coordinate preparation disposal and delivery of specimens to laboratory per protocol
Maintain and monitor inventory of sterile supplies
Assist with patient transport when necessary
Support clinic duties including rooming patients taking vitals entering orders and routing phone calls
Stay current on surgical trends techniques and equipment through in-services and continuing education
Ensure compliance with hospital safety and infection control standards

Requirements

Certified Surgical Technician (CST) Required
Active CST Certification Required
AHA BLS Certification Required
Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Tech experience Required
Ability to meet call requirements (2 days/week & 2 weekends/month)
Ability to work 8-hour day shifts (schedule determined by manager)
Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR protocols
