About the role
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for keeping track of all R&D inventory. Their main duties include preparing excel lists for purchase orders inventory counts organization of shelves with proper labelling and bins logging all inventory in an organized spreadsheet and ensuring that quantities of product components equipment and supplies are maintained at all times. They are responsible for warehousing activities such as receiving/shipping organizing the warehouse to help maintain a safe work addition be the primary back-up to the Purchasing Specialist to place purchase orders consolidate invoices and support new component vendors.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Receive and ship medical devices and components and maintain the warehouse in a clean and organized fashion to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Review drawings and Bill of materials to prepare excel sheets for component orders with quantities based on demand.
  • Keep track of raw materials equipment shipments incoming deliveries and stock.
  • Manage inventory using Master excel sheets and maintain it with frequent inventory counts.
  • Prevent shortages of supply or manage unexpected shortages.
  • Order materials as needed.
  • Reconcile inventory differences between physical stock and digital data.
  • Review incoming and outgoing orders and sort them on shelves with labels accordingly.
  • Create update and maintain supplier purchasing files that are complete with pricing information.
  • Work with external vendors to ensure the schedule facility tasks are completed and documented in the electronic management system.
  • Other duties as required.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Business or related field or equivalent years of experience
  • 2 years related experience in inventory tracking and warehouse tasks such as shipping and receiving.
  • 2 years related experience working within R&D/Engineering work environments and companies.
  • Basic technical concepts and practices and a basic understanding of product or systems fundamentals.
  • Experience using excel for inventory tracking and master lists.
  • Excellent organizational communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail organizational interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Software including Excel Outlook Access PowerPoint and MS Word.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Work experience in the medical device industry.
  • Familiarity reading mechanical drawings (CAD drawings) and Bills of Material.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and manage multiple tasks and prioritize assignments with limited time constraints while working consistently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prepare purchase orders and consolidate invoices.
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust to changing priorities and unforeseen events.
  • Must be able to perform multiple high-level tasks within structured timelines.
  • Experience using electronic document systems such as Windchill.

Responsabilités :

  • Réceptionner et expédier les dispositifs médicaux et les composants et maintenir lentrepôt propre et organisé afin dassurer un environnement de travail sécuritaire.
  • Examiner les dessins techniques et les nomenclatures pour préparer des feuilles Excel de commandes de composants avec des quantités basées sur la demande.
  • Assurer le suivi des matières premières de léquipement des expéditions des livraisons entrantes et du stock.
  • Gérer linventaire à laide de feuilles maîtresses Excel et le maintenir à jour avec des décomptes dinventaire fréquents.
  • Prévenir les pénuries de fournitures ou gérer les ruptures imprévues.
  • Commander les matériaux au besoin.
  • Réconcilier les écarts dinventaire entre le stock physique et les données numériques.
  • Examiner les commandes entrantes et sortantes et les classer sur les étagères avec des étiquettes appropriées.
  • Créer mettre à jour et maintenir les dossiers dachats fournisseurs complets avec les informations de prix.
  • Collaborer avec les fournisseurs externes pour sassurer que les tâches planifiées pour les installations sont complétées et documentées dans le système électronique de gestion.
  • Effectuer dautres tâches au besoin.

Compétences requises :

  • Baccalauréat en gestion de la chaîne dapprovisionnement en administration des affaires ou dans un domaine connexe ou expérience équivalente.
  • Minimum de 2ans dexpérience pertinente en suivi dinventaire et en tâches dentrepôt telles que lexpédition et la réception.
  • Minimum de 2ans dexpérience pertinente dans des environnements de travail en R-D ou en ingénierie.
  • Connaissance de base des concepts et pratiques techniques ainsi quune compréhension élémentaire des produits ou des systèmes.
  • Expérience de lutilisation dExcel pour le suivi de linventaire et la gestion de listes maîtresses.
  • Excellentes compétences en organisation en communication et en collaboration.
  • Excellentes compétences en documentation.
  • Grande attention aux détails et solides compétences en organisation en relations interpersonnelles en communication écrite et verbale.
  • Solide maîtrise de la suite MS Office y compris Excel Outlook Access PowerPoint et Word.

Compétences souhaitées :

  • Expérience de travail dans lindustrie des dispositifs médicaux.
  • Familiarité avec la lecture de dessins mécaniques (dessins CAO) et de nomenclatures (Bill of Materials).

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training pertinent education including licensure and certifications among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for hourly non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g. any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for salaried non-sales roles may also include variable compensation i.e. annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).

We also determined that the English language skills already required of other employees do not permit the performance of English language skills tasks related to R&D Inventory Specialist / Spécialiste en linventaire (R et D)position.

However in Québec Boston Scientific limits as much as possible the number of positions for which it requires the knowledge of another language than French. Boston Scientific solely requires proficiency in English where it is necessary for the performance of an employees duties.
