Job Summary/Purpose

This position provides strategic leadership direction and management Enterprise Safety organization. The position also serves as the interface with Power Delivery Capital Projects Nuclear and Fossil Generation on safety strategy and governance.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Serve as a key member of the Enterprise Safety lead team providing strategic leadership and direction for the organization in the management and development of safety strategy. Oversees the design development and implementation of the Enterprise Safety organizations safety and human performance programs and procedures to safeguard employees and contractors.

Build a culture of safety excellence within the Enterprise Safety organization and provide guidance and initiate/develop/sponsor programs to enhance safety leadership skills which may include safety training programs presentations workshops/conferences safety communications policies and overall guidance to build and enhance a strong zero harm culture

Work closely with the various leaders and safety personnel in the Enterprise Safety organization to ensure effective implementation of safety programs and the creation of new programs from analyzing injury audit observation and assessment information.

Develop and execute short and long term safety strategies based on data and input from field personnel. Establish program governance and report progress to Executive leadership on a regular basis.

Responsible for ensuring safety consistency across the Enterprise Safety organization. Manage Entergy safety personnel and both directly and through a matrix relationship who are responsible for consistent application of safety processes and procedures across all Projects being executed by the organization. Oversee and assess safety performance of contractors performing work for the organization. Coordinates and/or ensures training is conducted in areas such as safety laws and regulations hazardous condition monitoring and use of safety equipment. Provides assurance that all personnel at all locations and levels have the necessary understanding and training to remain in compliance with Entergys safety policies and processes. Ensures that employees receive safety training applicable to their work processes

Serve as primary liaison to help develop support and implement approved Enterprise Safety initiatives

Responsible for establishing governance over safety rules policies and procedures specific to Entergy.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree in Industrial Safety Industrial Hygiene Occupational Health Engineering Discipline or a related science field. Masters or MBA preferred
