JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State Hazleton Practical Nursing Program is seekinga part time Practical Nursing Academic Coach for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Job duties to include:
Teach effective study strategies time management organization self-advocacy and test-taking skills.
Assist students in identifying strengths weaknesses and setting realistic academic and career goals.
Provide proactive support by reaching out to students monitor academic progress and intervene when issues arise.
Address personal barriers to success fostering self-efficacy and a growth mindset.
Additional duties may include teaching first-year seminars leading workshops or training peer mentors.
Requirements qualifications and/or competencies:
Candidates must have an active Pennsylvania Nursing license.
MSN Preferred BSN required.
Applicants should have experience in Acute Care Medical Surgical Long-term care or Community Health Nursing.
Nurse educator experience is recommended but not required.
Knowledge of educational best practices and student development.
