TO QUALIFY FOR THE OPTIONS BELOW you must POSSESS and CLEARLY EXPRESS detailed years of experience performing relevant duties within your online job application under the Experience area.
Prepares wood on cement floors for carpet or linoleum by the use of a floor-sanding/grinding machine.
Covers cracks indentations and other irregularities with filler materials.
Measures and marks off floor in accordance with floor covering plan.
Applies mastic to cement and wood floors prior to laying floor covering.
Installs tackless strips for securing carpeting to floor.
Uses a hand-operated carpet stretcher in putting carpet into place.
Rolls linoleum with large handroller to smooth it to floor surface.
Sews binding tape on rugs and carpets to make a finished edge and to prevent raveling.
Sews tears and opened seams in carpets and rugs and patches carpeting linoleum and asphalt tile floors as required.
Maintains tools and equipment.
Drives automotive equipment to and from work sites.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
OPTION I: Completion of a recognized apprenticeship training program* in carpet and linoleum laying work of at least three years duration.
-OR-
OPTION II:Four years experience in carpet and linoleum laying work including at least one year in each specialty and one year at the journey-level**.
LICENSE:
A valid California Class C Driver License is required to perform job-related essential functions.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION:
*To qualify under Option I include a legible copy of your official certification official transcript or letter/certificate from a recognized apprenticeship training program with your online application or within five (5) business days from the last day of filing period. The document should show the date the certification was conferred and be in English.

3 - Moderate: Includes standing or walking most of the time with bending stooping squatting twisting and reaching; includes working on irregular surfaces occasionally lifting objects weighing over 25 pounds and frequent lifting of 10 - 25 pounds.

EXAMINATION CONTENT:NO PERSON MAY COMPETE FOR THIS EXAMINATION MORE THAN ONCE EVERY TWELVE (12) MONTHS.
Eligibility Information:The names of candidates receiving a passing score in the examination will be placed on a list in the order of their score group for a period oftwelve (12) months following the date of promulgation. PASSING THIS EXAMINATION AND BEING PLACED ON THE ELIGIBLE LIST DO NOT GUARANTEE AN OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT.
