Technical Officer in the HKU-Pasteur Research Pole of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 533997) to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should have a Bachelors degree or above in Science or related disciplines with at least 3-5 years work experience in laboratory management and safety. They should also have a good record of practical experience be a good team player and be able to communicate in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Experience in BSL2 virus and cell culture laboratories; and/or possession of relevant safety certifications such as Boiler and Receiver Safety Courses organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Council (preferably BPV3 Electric BoilersSafety) will be considered advantageous.
The appointee will oversee and manage the daily operation and safety of our laboratories and ensure all researchers strict compliance with laboratory protocols and biosafety procedures. He/She will also work on clinical specimens and conduct some laboratory animal work.
