Job Summary
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current MN nursing license.
- BLS certification.
- Current 2-3 years of pediatric nursing experience
- Current 2 years expertise in vascular access with children.
- Competent in assessment and treatment of VAD sites for all complications.
- Ultrasound guided PIV placement 1 year experience required
- Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) placement experience required PICC experience in children preferred
- VA-BC certification preferred
- An informational meeting with the Patient Care Manager is required prior to awarding the position.
The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary this position may be eligible for medical dental vision retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.

Position Summary
The Vascular Access Registered Nurse provides expert peripheral intravenous (PIV) PICC line placements and other vascular access related tasks. This includes developing (as needed) and maintaining clinical expertise in the placement of PICC lines teaching and mentoring RNs on the floors about basic IV care such as the use of safety catheters being a clinical expert resource for the organization in vascular access issues and working closely with the staff to improve organizational access flow and customer experience and assisting in the development of this new program.
