We are now looking for a dedicated Practice Development Nurse to join our Nursing Team in Co. Dublin contributing to the provision of high-quality care for our residents.
Support the delivery and ongoing maintenance of high standards of patient safety and quality of care across all areas.
Promote evidence-based practice and safe consistent care delivery at floor level.
Foster a culture of openness learning and continuous quality improvement.
Support the implementation and monitoring of clinical protocols SOPs and care pathways.
Identify gaps in regulatory compliance (HIQA) and support timely corrective actions.
Ensure appropriate evidence of compliance is available at floor level in line with regulatory expectations.
Conduct regular audits in accordance with the agreed audit schedule and allocated sites.
Carry out practice observations and spot checks across all floors.
Review audit findings and ensure follow-up actions are completed and embedded into practice.
Communicate audit outcomes clearly to staff and support implementation of improvements.
Support incident reporting processes including serious injuries safeguarding concerns and complaints.
Assist with incident investigations and Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) as required.
Ensure learning from incidents is effectively communicated and translated into improved practice.
Support staff training compliance and competency development.
Identify learning and development needs through audits incidents and practice observations.
Promote reflective practice and continuous professional development among staff.
Monitor and track key quality and safety indicators including:
Falls
Pressure ulcers
Medication incidents
Patient deterioration and INEWS
Analyse trends escalate concerns through appropriate governance structures and support senior management as required.
Contribute to quality reports action plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of nursing literature research and developments in clinical practice management and education.
Participate in relevant training programmes seminars and conferences as required by the DON/ADON.
Keep informed of curriculum developments and participate in clinical learning environment audits.
Engage in activities that support personal and professional development.
Support staff in the application of professional codes policies and frameworks including the Scope of Practice Framework and the Code of Professional Conduct.
Registered Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) Register.
Minimum of 35 years post-registration clinical experience.
Recognised Train the Trainer qualification.
Demonstrated experience in clinical governance quality improvement and/or practice development.
Strong working knowledge of HIQA standards regulations and inspection processes.
Proven experience conducting clinical audits and supporting regulatory inspections.
Excellent communication organisational and report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary management team.
Post-registration qualification in Practice Development Quality Education Leadership or a related discipline.
Previous experience in a Practice Development Quality or Governance-focused role.
Experience supporting and preparing services for HIQA inspections within residential care settings
