We are currently recruiting a Registered Psychiatric Nurse General Nurse with psychiatric experience on behalf of a reputable client based in Dublin. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality person-centred mental health nursing care in line with professional ethical and organisational standards.
We currently have 12 Staff Nurse vacancies.
Preference will be given to candidates with a Psychiatric (Psych) PIN. However applicants with a General PIN will also be considered provided they have mandatory psychiatric experience.
The salary range is per annum depending on experience.
Ensure the safe custody accurate recording and administration of medications in accordance with established policies while meeting the physical psychological sociocultural spiritual and vocational needs of patients/residents.
Practise nursing in accordance with the professional code of practice as set out by An Bord Altranais/NMBI and in line with the organisations policies and procedures.
Plan implement and evaluate individualised patient care programmes within the agreed framework of professional practice.
Adopt a collaborative approach to patient care by coordinating care and interventions with members of the multidisciplinary team.
Participate in clinical induction teaching and education programmes for support staff.
Maintain appropriate accurate and up-to-date records relating to patient care.
Adhere to established lines of authority within the nursing management structure.
Assume management responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Participate as an effective team member in all aspects of patient care and delegate duties appropriately.
Demonstrate a high level of motivation and take responsibility for ongoing professional development.
Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with patients families visitors and colleagues.
Act as an advocate for patients and their families ensuring they are appropriately informed supported and counselled regarding care needs.
Contribute to the setting of professional standards and participate in auditing and evaluating the effectiveness of care delivery.
Cooperate with nursing and support staff rostering to ensure the optimal use of nursing resources.
Be an NMBI-registered Psychiatric Nurse or a General Nurse with mandatory psychiatric experience.
Possess post-registration nursing experience in adult mental health services mental health rehabilitation services or community-based mental health services (mandatory).
Have established clinical experience in mental health rehabilitation and in supporting individuals with serious and enduring mental health conditions.
Demonstrate the requisite knowledge skills and abilities including a high standard of clinical managerial and administrative competence.
Possess a strong working knowledge of Mental Health Commission requirements and standards.
Demonstrate clinical experience of working within a multidisciplinary team and a strong understanding of the principles and operation of clinical governance.
Demonstrate the ability to lead teach manage and participate in the practice education of student nurses and healthcare staff and to actively promote teaching training and support for others as appropriate.
Have a sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and other statutory regulations affecting healthcare organisations.
Provide evidence of ongoing continuing professional development (CPD).
