The City of Bothell is seeking a dedicated individual to join our Public Works Storm Division as the next Senior PW Maintenance Worker. This work involves collaborating across multiple divisions and departments while demonstrating clear communication and maintaining positive and professional interactions. The position is responsible for operating equipment and performing maintenance activities to inspect clean and maintain the Citys stormwater infrastructure while also training and mentoring maintenance workers and seasonal staff.

Default schedule will be the following: 4/10s Monday-Thursday from 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
What will you do in this position
- Perform skilled stormwater maintenance inspection and repair work to keep the Citys drainage system operating safely and efficiently.
- Operate a wide range of trucks tools and heavy equipment to clean and maintain pipes catch basins ponds ditches vaults and water-quality treatment systems.
- Assist with troubleshooting system issues responding to drainage concerns and supporting small-scale infrastructure repairs including curb gutter and concrete/asphalt restoration.
- Assist with large pipe patch/point repairs and installation of new stormwater infrastructure as needed.
- Complete vegetation and pond maintenance at detention facilities rain gardens and water-quality sites.
- Respond to after-hours callouts and support emergency/weather-related operations including flooding debris removal and storm response.
- Support staff by showing them how to do tasks and offering basic coaching and mentoring to build their skills.
A successful candidate in this position will:
- Be a safe skilled equipment operator who follows procedures and works well independently or in a team setting.
- Show strong problem-solving skills attention to detail and the ability to adapt to changing field conditions.
- Communicate clearly and maintain positive interactions with coworkers inspectors and the public.
- Demonstrate reliability professionalism and a commitment to high-quality maintenance and customer service.
- Be motivated to learn new technology and tools including asset management systems GIS software and advanced stormwater maintenance practices.
- Be reliable and prepared to respond to after-hours on-call duties and weather events ensuring timely and effective storm and drainage system response.
