As a GCC Account Manager for AWS India your responsibilities will include building and driving the strategy to increase AWS adoption and market penetration across Global Capability Centers (GCCs) operating in India. You will be responsible for carrying out global account strategy locally and building long-term business and technology partnerships with these strategic engineering and innovation hubs that shape global cloud architecture.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive Digital Transformation and Cloud Adoption: Lead strategic conversations and sales plays across four key pillarsInternal Digital Transformation Cloud Migration & Platform Modernization Data-driven Innovation and Generative AIto drive adoption and business value across GCC operations
- Executive Relationship Management: Facilitate regular and deeper executive engagement between GCC India leadership global parent organization stakeholders and AWS teams to ensure strong Top to Top connectivity and strategic alignment
- Strategic Business Transformation Conversations: Drive regular strategic business transformation and roadmap-oriented discussions with GCC Heads Engineering Leaders and Center of Excellence (CoE) owners regarding cloud architecture decisions workload migrations and innovation initiatives
- Engineering and Product Leadership Engagement: Collaborate with GCC Engineering Heads Product Development leaders and Horizontal leaders to drive the success of their Migration/Modernization strategy and ensure technical alignment
- Project Execution and Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to extended teams driving execution excellence and ensuring successful delivery of cloud projects and pilots
- Knowledge Sharing and Capability Building: Lead collaboration initiatives including hackathons immersion days and tech days to showcase AWS capabilities build technical mindshare and accelerate adoption across the organization
- CTO/CIO Evangelism and Pattern Replication: Evangelize with GCC CTO/CIO offices to replicate successful cloud adoption patterns across different Lines of Business (LOBs) and geographies; interface with Product Engineering & Innovation teams to influence global product and platform transformation decisions
- Partner Ecosystem Alignment: Work closely with GSIs and ISVs supporting GCC operations and ensure alignment with global account teams to convert local initiatives into global-scale consumption
- Compliance and Data Sovereignty: Ensure all local operations and cloud implementations comply with Indian data sovereignty privacy and regulatory requirements while maintaining global architecture standards
- Multi-Level Stakeholder Engagement: Engage effectively at all levels of the GCC organization including C-levels Engineering Heads and technical architects of both India operations and the global parent organization
- Strategic Coverage Planning: Develop and execute against a comprehensive coverage plan and business objectives connecting AWSs global account strategy with Indias growing GCC ecosystem
A day in the life
As an Account Executive for the GCC practice the candidate will be the owner of assigned GCC accounts and will focus on driving digital transformation and cloud adoption through meaningful engagement with GCC leaders Engineering Heads architects developers and global this role the candidate will partner closely with AWS global account teams local partners and internal stakeholders to represent the entire portfolio of AWS products and services across assigned GCC customer base. The candidate will act as a thought leader trusted advisor and local champion who helps influence technology decisions accelerate cloud workload migrations and unlock new innovation opportunities that scale globally.
A typical day may include:
- Research and preparation for customer meetings and calls with GCC India leadership Engineering Heads and global parent organization stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and business value discussions
- Collaboration with cross-functional AWS teams (Global Account Managers Solutions Architects Professional Services Partner teams) on pitches technical demos and customer engagement strategies
- Executive and technical customer meetings and regular cadence calls with GCC India operations teams and global parent organization leadership to drive cloud adoption roadmaps and transformation initiatives
- Stakeholder mapping and relationship development across GCC India operations global leadership and key decision-makers to identify expansion opportunities and influence technology strategies
- Planning and execution of in-person engagement activities such as hackathons immersion days and technology showcases to build technical mindshare and accelerate AWS adoption
- Coordination with GSIs ISVs and partner ecosystems to ensure alignment on local initiatives and drive conversion to global-scale consumption
- Maintaining high standards of account hygiene in SFDC with clear documentation linking local cloud initiatives migration projects and innovation pilots to global consumption metrics and business outcomes

- 6 years of technology sales selling enterprise software networking infrastructure managed hosting services or cloud computing services experience
- Experience working with presenting to and negotiating with C-level executives IT lines of business procurement finance legal and internal stakeholders for sizeable commercial/enterprise deals
- 12 years of work at a technology company as the account and relationship manager of a large global organization experience
- Enterprise Account Management Experience: Proven 10 years of experience managing and growing large enterprise accounts with deep understanding of complex procurement processes stakeholder dynamics and decision-making frameworks in large organizations
- Cloud and Emerging Technology Expertise: Well-versed in cloud computing solutions infrastructure offerings and emerging technologies including Generative AI and machine learning capabilities with ability to articulate business value and use cases to enterprise customers
- 7 years of technology platform sales with an understanding of government IT data centers cloud services and cloud adoption experience
- MBA or equivalent advanced business experience demonstrating strategic thinking and business acumen in enterprise sales and account management
- Prior experience in handling GCC customers and managing their specific requirements
