DESCRIPTION:
As a Compliance Specialist I at Thermo Fisher Scientific youll join a collaborative team dedicated to managing global trade risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. This foundational position offers opportunities to contribute to our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier cleaner and safer. Youll be responsible for compliance activities including customer screening transaction review and process improvement initiatives. Working in a dynamic environment youll collaborate with teams to maintain strict adherence to international trade regulations while supporting efficient business operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree required with no prior experience required in customs compliance import/export operations or related field
Certified Customs Specialist certification preferred
Proficient in MS Office suite particularly Excel and Word
Knowledge of trade regulations including HTS GRIs Valuation Rules of Origin FTAs and ECCNs
Experience with SAP ERP and Thomson Reuters OneSource Global Trade software preferred
Strong English language proficiency in both written and verbal communication
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with teams
Experience conducting process audits and implementing improvements
Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
Knowledge of Titles 15 and 19 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
Proven capability to handle confidential information with discretion
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
