Job Summary

Summary: St Michael is looking for a bread and butter Urologist for clinic and call for 3-6 months. Clinic Manager will provide clinic tour/orientation before start date. Applicants should be interested in a wide variety of general cases clinic rounding and OR. Candidates should be collegial team players with good patient and customer service skills. Robot onsite at hospital for cases if needed. Will be sole provider in a fast paced/busy dept. Provider may take hospital call during clinic hours.

RATE CAPS FOR SUBMISSION:

Malpractice Must be included in rates.

Orientation $half the hourly/callback rate kicks in after 8 hours. Per hour of orientation or training beyond 8 hours

Hourly $Per hour not OT

Holiday $Must be 1.5x the hourly rate. Per holiday hour no OT

Nightly Call $900-$1200- Per night call to hold the pager to include 2.5 hours gratis

Holiday Nightly Call - $Per night call to hold the pager to include 2.5 hours gratis

On Call (Daily) $4000-$4250 - Per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis

24 Hour Holiday Call Rate - $Per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis

Call Back $450-500 Per hour of patient contact hours after gratis hours are completed gratis prorate to MSA terms.

Holiday Call Back $ Per holiday hour of patient contact hours after gratis hours are completed gratis prorate to MSA terms.

Average Callback: Weekday: .5 hours; Weekend: 2 hours

Details:

Shift times: Clinic - 8a-4p Night call(call is not every shift) (5p-8a) and 24 hour call - 7a-7a - (1:6)
Minimum of 3 months of locum coverage is required.
5-6 days of call plus clinic minimum
Facility Location: SMMC
Setting: clinic/call
Total # FTE s needed: 1
Duties: general urology care in clinic and on call Cystoscopy vasectomies prostate biopsy TURP uroflow/cuff bladder scans Ureteroscopy nephrectomy Cystectomy ESWL Botox injections etc.
Required Procedures: bread and butter urology robot available however robotic procedures not required.
Patients per day/volume: 20-25 pts per day
Number of surgeries: 20-30/month

Call Volume (consults vs callback): 20% consults 80% callback- When on call 20% of patients are new consults and 80% are established patients returning to the ED.
Admissions: Hospitalist team present
Rounding: Locum will round
EMR: Epic
Support Staff: 2 RNs MA Surgery Scheduler and 2 front office staff.
Reason for Coverage: open position with difficulty in recruiting current locum found a perm job.
Dealbreakers: Providers who are not agreeable to terms in the job desc. Providers who cannot keep up in a fast paced busy environment providers who are not agreeable to rates or who have not reviewed the job description and understand pt. volumes and setting.

Credentialing Deadline & Committee Meeting Schedule

The credentialing deadline is three weeks prior to the provider s start date. All required documents must be completed and in hand by this deadline.
Providers who will be on vacation out of town or facing any other obstacles that may delay the credentialing process will not be considered. Please ensure these deadlines are taken into account when discussing start dates only accurate start dates will be accepted.
If your provider has any concerns on their background (e.g. malpractice criminal history etc.) please be aware of the following committee meeting dates when setting their start date:

Pierce Regional Credentials Committee Meeting (SJMC SAH SCH) Every 3rd Monday (Monthly)
King Regional Credentials Committee Meeting (SANH SFH) Every 3rd Tuesday (Monthly)
One Board Executive Committee Meeting (for ALL VMFH) Every 4th Tuesday (Monthly)

Active WA license WA HIGHLY PREFERRED or IMLC (LOQ in hand at time of submission and uploaded)
Active ACLS BLS DEA ACLS BLS DEA REQUIRED - will consider a candidate that does not have ACLS or BLS in hand but will obtain if selected.
Candidates must be able to cover about 80% of the dates detailed (3-4 weeks) and must detail the specific dates the provider can cover through Feb 2026 REQUIRED
Candidates must detail the specific blackout dates REQUIRED
Candidates must list the # of shifts per month ongoing they can offer to the site REQUIRED

Requirements for Presentation:

Vendors are now required to compile all presentation documents for a locum into a single PDF file.
The PDF must be uploaded into TRIO in the Candidate Documents section under the locums submission page.
The PDF title should include the locums name site location and specialty (ex. Dr. John Smith Good Samaritan Physician Nephrology)
An up-to-date CV (solely) is still required to submit in Name Clear Documents initially when sending a new name clear. Vendors will have until bid due date to submit a PDF of ALL presentation documents. If PDF is not submitted TRIO will not clear provider.
