About the Role

We are seeking an Intelligence Engineer to serve as the Quality and Outcome Validator across all product squads. Your focus is on validating product goals and preventing operational halts by ensuring every new feature not only works correctly but actually delivers its intended outcome for end-users and internal teams.

This role challenges the traditional test-at-the-end mindset by embedding quality validation throughout the development lifecycle. Youll be the quality champion who owns the mandatory Quality Gates that prevent software issues from halting operational workflows or disrupting the end-user experience.

Reporting to the Nerves Squad CTO and working closely with all Product Squads youll be accountable for the overall quality strategy of the product encompassing both automated defenses and human-led validation to meet the 99% quality mandate.

What Youll Do

• Outcome Validation (Manual/Exploratory): Perform hands-on testing of newly built features to validate they meet the precise scope goal and customer deliverables defined by the squad validating the why of the feature not just the what
• Test Strategy Design: Design and implement a comprehensive testing approach that intelligently combines automated scripts (for scale and regression) with targeted exploratory and manual validation (for new feature delivery)
• Defect Prevention: Analyze past defects by their business impact building both automated and manual tests to prevent any failure that previously interrupted a workflow degraded customer experience or caused operational stoppage
• Quality Gate Ownership: Own and enforce mandatory Quality Gates that ensure product goals and customer deliverables are met before release preventing production issues that cause operational rework
• Cross-Squad Collaboration: Work closely with Revenue Engineers Intelligence Engineers and Value Stewards across all squads to embed quality validation early in the development process
• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate production incidents to identify systemic quality gaps and implement preventative measures that address the underlying causes
• Metrics and Reporting: Track and report on quality metrics particularly Code-Induced Rework Rate to provide visibility into quality trends and drive continuous improvement
• Automation Development: Build and maintain automated test suites using tools like Selenium to provide scalable regression coverage while focusing human effort on high-value validation

Qualifications :

What Were Looking For

• 5 years of progressive software quality assurance or testing experience with a proven track record of preventing critical production defects in complex highly available systems.
• Expert-level skills in test automation (Selenium) SQL for data validation REST API testing and understanding of C# and Azure-based systems
• Strong knowledge of front-end testing (ReactJS JavaScript) database systems (MSSQL) and manual/exploratory testing methodologies
• Outcome-Focused Mindset: Deep commitment to validating business outcomes and preventing operational disruption not just checking boxes on test cases
• Quality Champion: Passionate about being the last line of defense between development and production with the courage to halt releases when quality standards arent met
• Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to analyze defect patterns identify systemic issues and design targeted testing strategies that prevent recurrence
• Collaboration Excellence: Outstanding communication skills with the ability to articulate quality risks and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Adaptability: Comfortable working across multiple squads and domains understanding different business contexts and their unique quality requirements

• Code-Induced Rework Rate: Critical partner in driving the Code-Induced Rework Rate towards the maximum allowance of 1% across all operational squads measured by errors that reach production
• Quality Mandate Achievement: Ensuring the 99% quality mandate is consistently met through proactive validation and defect prevention
• Zero Operational Halts: Preventing software quality issues from halting operational workflows or disrupting critical business processes
• First-Time-Right Delivery: Minimizing operational rework by ensuring features are built correctly and meet their stated goal the first time
• Quality Gate Compliance: 100% adherence to Quality Gate standards before any production release
• Defect Prevention Effectiveness: Demonstrable reduction in recurring defect patterns through targeted automation and validation strategies
