We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Shelter Support Worker to join our team in providing compassionate care and essential services within a shelter this vital role you will be the frontline support for individuals experiencing homelessness crisis situations or other vulnerabilities. Your proactive approach combined with strong communication and crisis intervention skills will help create a safe supportive and empowering space for those in need. - Must Be 21 years of age
- Must Pass Background
- Must Have Drivers License
- Food Serve Safe Food Handler Certificate Preferred but not Required
Shift:12pm-8am (2 days) 4pm-12am (2 days) 8am-4pm (1 day) Shifts rotate.
Location: Marysville CA
Pay Rate: $16.50
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to shelter residents by assisting with daily activities ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Conduct intake assessments to gather essential information about clients needs histories and goals.
- Implement behavioral health and behavior management strategies to support residents emotional stability.
- Manage crisis intervention situations swiftly and effectively de-escalating conflicts and providing emotional support.
- Supervise residents to promote safety security and respectful community living; monitor for any signs of distress or behavioral issues.
- Facilitate conflict management among residents through mediation and conflict resolution techniques.
- Assist with childcare responsibilities when needed to support families within the shelter environment.
- Maintain accurate data entry filing and data collection related to client information incident reports and case notes.
- Administer medication as prescribed following proper protocols; document medication administration accurately.
- Support case management efforts by coordinating services such as addiction counseling home & community care programs and other social services.
- Conduct security checks regularly; ensure the safety of residents staff and property through vigilant observation and adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform first aid when necessary and respond promptly to medical or emergency situations following established procedures.
- Support program operations by assisting with intake procedures maintaining records and managing client files efficiently.
