DescriptionServe as the subject matter expert for Marine Certification and IACS (International Association of Classification Societies) requirements. Ensure compliance with marine society standards for type approval and maintain valid certifications for all production marine turbochargers. Act as the primary liaison with marine societies to manage requirements changes and on-site inspections or audits. Communicate marine deliverables clearly to internal stakeholders and maintain documentation accuracy. Continuously improve the marine certification management process by implementing updates and lessons learned.
Key Job Areas of Responsibilities
Certification Management
- Initiate and manage new and ongoing type approvals and manufacturing assessments with classification societies until certification is achieved. Includes application submissions documentation collection from internal stakeholders addressing feedback from agencies initiating physical testing and coordinating audits of quality control and manufacturing processes.
- Identify changes in requirements and work with cross-functional teams to develop effective reaction plans.
Internal Coordination & Documentation
- Act as primary liaison for internal stakeholders (engineering program managers quality engineers) regarding IACS requirements and ensure all deliverables are completed on time and with the required rigor.
- Maintain and manage all documentation (certificates project details marine standards) in an organized and accessible manner for the broader organization.
Process Development & Updates
- Update internal process documents to define steps for projects requiring marine certification. Examples include Product/Material Stewardship test procedures and procurement requirements.
Training & Technical Understanding
- Train and coach colleagues on marine certification processes and requirements to build organizational capability. Develop a basic technical understanding of turbocharger design operation testing and manufacturing.
Education / Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a technical or business related field.
Experience
Minimum 8 years of relevant automotive experience.
Background in Program Management Engineering Manufacturing or Quality preferred.
Experience in quality certification or marine industry certification is a plus.

Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to influence through subject matter expertise and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders including customers and certification body representatives.
Experience working in global teams and collaborating across multiple regions and project teams.
