Job Summary

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Supply Chain Program Manager to lead and manage Virginias Supply Chain Optimization Program (SCOP) supporting Virginia businesses in optimizing their supply chain management processes.

Virginias Supply Chain Optimization Program helps Virginia businesses evaluate and strengthen their supply chain processes for inputs and components used in future exporting initiatives. Companies that participate in the program can receive reimbursement for supply chain-related expenses as well as training from supply chain experts. The Supply Chain Program Manager will report to the Assistant Vice President International Trade and will work collaboratively with internal teams external partners and participating companies to deliver impactful program outcomes.

This position is part of VEDPs International Trade Division which is recognized as the leading state international trade development program in the U.S. The International Trade Division provides a range of resources such as customized market research international business meetings and programs to help Virginia companies grow their international sales. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues and partner organizations to recruit and enroll Virginia companies in the program. Review and approve program applications from businesses to confirm they meet program requirements.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with participating companies. Meet with businesses to develop and execute supply chain optimization plans track progress and conduct exit interviews for program assessment.
  • Provide expert guidance and counseling on supply chain optimization for participating companies ensuring full engagement with program initiatives.
  • Organize and implement quarterly training events (in-person and virtual) and program-wide communications. Coordinate with partners to deliver educational opportunities on supply chain topics.
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with organizations involved in supply chain-related services and training.
  • Manage the program budget report on program metrics and maintain records of participants.
  • Review reimbursement requests from program participants and make approval decisions about reimbursement payments according to VEDP guidelines.
  • Lead and supervise a Program Specialist who supports the program.
  • Lead up to two international trade mission and trade show delegations each year by coordinating logistics collaborating with colleagues and ensuring successful participation by businesses.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and organize a schedule to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in positive working relationships with colleagues clients and partner organizations
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) including being comfortable meeting with and providing advice to business executives and presenting at events
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Zoom Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint; experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Enjoys providing excellent service to internal and external customers and meeting deadlines

Education and Experience:

  • Combination of training education or experience in Supply Chain Management International Business Business Administration Logistics or related field
  • Project management experience with expertise in global supply chain practices logistics and international business practices
  • Knowledge of federal regulations governing international trade as well as foreign customs and cultures
  • Professional experience with event planning marketing communications or business administration
  • A valid drivers license and ability to obtain a passport are required

This position is based in VEDPs office in Richmond Virginia three days each week and has the option to telework two days each week according to VEDPs hybrid work policy. This position requires regular in-state travel.
