Job Summary

PAY GRADE: L

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The position of Auditorium Technician is done for the purpose(s) of monitoring and maintaining the daily operation of activities for school auditorium usage; to coordinate auditorium scheduling and oversee auditorium activities; and to maintain accurate recordkeeping for auditorium usage equipment and materials.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

1. Maintain and operate auditorium equipment.

2. Schedule coordinate and supervise auditorium activities during the school day.

3. Coordinate and supervise facility rental activities during non-school hours.

4. Collaborate with school staff to provide needed equipment for special events (i.e. concerts plays dress rehearsals etc.)

5. Coordinate and communicate auditorium usage scheduling via email.

6. Coordinate and communicate the overall auditorium usage calendar via web-based calendar system

7. Communicate with supervising administrator regarding auditorium-related issues (i.e. equipment status auditorium usage event calendar etc.)

8. Monitor auditorium and conduct daily inventory of equipment and materials

9. Work flexible schedule as required including evenings and weekends

10. Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

11. Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities

12. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (positions in this class typically require):

High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Relevant experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Assist and monitor student assistants.

Knowledge of stage elements (i.e. lighting sound equipment stage setup basic technical repair chords set construction/design etc.).

Computer proficiency to include basic software applications.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students school staff and district personnel.

Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with students.

Ability to take initiative be flexible and accept direction and constructive feedback.

Ability to organize prioritize and meet deadlines while working with minimum supervision.

Ability and willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: reaching standing walking finger dexterity grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts odors chemicals extreme temperatures inadequate lighting workspace restrictions and intense noises.

Return To Work Retirees will have an hourly rate approximately 90 percent (90%) of the posted range.0k9
