Job Description:
The Sr. Associate Environment Health & Safety Engineer is responsible for developing implementing and monitoring company environment health and safety (EHS) programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal state and local environmental health and safety regulations. Work to reduce company risk and liability in all aspects of EHS. Assists in a variety of duties to include sampling observations training and inspections. Works with stakeholders in the organization during space planning building expansions and/or other changes in facilities or work areas to ensure EHS requirements and regulations are met. Assists with root cause analysis when EHS incidents occur and recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist. Responsible for monitoring and driving sustainability initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Intermediate professional with practical knowledge of job area.
- Works under moderate supervision to set objectives for own job area.
- Communicates with contacts inside and outside own team to explain and interpret operational processes practices and procedures Identifies and addresses changes within own job area.
- Works to achieve operational targets with some impact on departmental results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 2years of prior related EH&S experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to2 years of prior related EH&S experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 6years of prior related EH&S experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experienced in OSHA 1910 General Industry.
- Experienced in OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry.
- Strong knowledge of standards OSHA NFPA NEC and ANSI including familiarity with applicable federal state and local regulations.
- Problem-solving skills are essential as is the ability to work within a high pressure and fast-paced environment.
- Masters degree preferred.
- Aerospace experience preferred.
