Role OverviewThe Project Engineer II will plan and perform work requiring sound technical judgment in the evaluation organization and execution of project management assignments worldwide. This role involves managing and coordinating project activities to ensure compliance with contracts safety quality timeliness and client profitability. The position is designed to expand project management knowledge and experience with accountability for engineering duties on medium-sized projects or complex segments of larger projects.
Key Responsibilities Perform project engineering functions including monitoring progress preparing procedures documenting communications and identifying/evaluating project issues.
Coordinate efforts of technical disciplines vendors and licensors to ensure integrated designs that meet project requirements.
Review project staffing requirements and coordinate with managers and subcontractors.
Support creation and monitoring of project plans schedules budgets and cost performance.
Prepare deliver and coordinate project deliverables design documents and bid packages.
Provide proactive reporting of progress accomplishments and follow-up actions.
Apply analytical approaches to problem-solving and identify potential solutions.
Utilize knowledge management communities and participate in vendor trade shows to stay current with industry trends.
Basic Requirements Accredited four-year degree (or global equivalent) in engineering.
10 years of work-related experience or recognized professional certification/registration in the applicable field.
Strong communication skills with diverse audiences (management coworkers clients vendors contractors).
Technical knowledge necessary to complete project engineering tasks.
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of local state and federal statutes and guidelines.
Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious effective manner.
Preferred Qualifications 6 years of experience in engineering procurement fabrication and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM).
Experience in risk assessment initiatives.
International project experience in diverse cultural environments.
Successful performance in project engineering roles on at least two medium or large projects.
Knowledge of project management tools databases and software.
Certification in project management (e.g. PMP).
Strong strategic thinking adaptability and customer relationship management skills.
