About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists to play a pivotal role in preparing for the Outpatient Buildings operation as its Training and Simulation Lead. The successful applicant will lead the development rollout and implementation of the Outpatient Building learning and training delivery plan. A close alignment with the Digital Programme will be necessary to be successful in this role.

Specifically this role will be responsibility for the delivery plan and supporting activity for both upskilling the new and existing staff who will work in the OB to ensure they understand how to use new equipment and new ways of working necessary to ensure safe service delivery is achieved. The scope of the training will span the induction of all staff moving to the new facility at and after opening and embedding Health NZ culture and values into the facility. We expect you will have a track record in leading training for a complex organisation preferably in health where safety and compliance-based training is a non-negotiable requirement.

Taking responsibility for the continual improvement of the quantity and quality of training plans delivered to help ensure a safe and competent go live will also help ensure success.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree or significant demonstrable experience in a related field preferably in health.
  • Demonstrable Learning and Development Framework and/or planning experience preferably in the health sector and/or in comparable facilities within the public sector within large and complex organisations
  • Passion for workforce training and development and experience implementing effective frameworks.
  • A track record of developing in-person and online training materials and assessment tools.
  • Ability to manage complex relationships be a good problem solver and able to multi-task successfully in a fast moving dynamic environment
  • Be positive solutions focused and will lead by example in a way that means others cant help but follow.
  • Exceptional computer skills.
  • Sound project and change management skills youll effectively plan execute and monitor the success of training initiatives making sure the change really sticks.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and grow a team to ensure the needs of both patient and the organisation are met.
