DescriptionThe Student Success division at the University of South Florida (USF) is comprised of 60 departments providing students with academic support engagement opportunities health & wellness services and enhancement of educational experience.
This position is an in-person pre-audit reconciler providing critical support to the Student Success unit in maintaining financial accuracy integrity and compliance with
University and State requirements by performing comprehensive pre-audit reconciliation processes across multiple fund ledgers and supporting key financial documentation
duties. The Fiscal & Business Specialist is responsible for conducting detailed monthly reconciliations of non-E&G fund ledgers department ledgers to include expenses and
revenues across all funding sources and USF Foundation fund ledgers. The position also initiates corrective journal entries and cost adjustments assists with electronic
filing and maintains professional clear and timely communications with both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Prepares audit-ready reconciliation packets for non-E&G fund ledgers department ledgers (including expenses and revenues) across all funds and Foundation fund ledgers. Compiles audit-ready documentation packages using University ledgers and transaction source documents; identifies researches and resolves discrepancies and routes to department leadership for final approval.
- Initiates journal entries and cost adjustments as directed and submits for review.
- Assists with electronic filing routes various documents for review/signature maintains and updates logs and databases related to job duties. Communicates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper and timely completion of
tasks. - Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum: This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent with three years of work experience in positions with fiscal support duties. College or other relevant post-secondary coursework may substitute for the experience requirement on a year for year basis.
Preferred: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or other business-related field and three years of professional fiscal experience.
