What is the compensation
Pay Rate: $15.00 $20.00 per hour (depending on experience)

What do I need to apply
Must be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program related to political science public administration planning or another related field.
Must have strong analytical and writing skills.
Ability to conduct research.
Ability to exercise independent judgment.
Valid lawful driver license is required at time of appointment.
What are the main duties
May include providing support to the Municipal Council with responsibilities for legislation appropriations and oversight.
Providing policy analysis covering a wide variety of City programs projects and budgets.
Making recommendations and assisting in designing new programs or processes.
Maintaining required records.
Receiving and reviewing requests.
Assisting in and performing basic and general research and analysis with general direction to acquire specialized knowledge.
Refining information for presentations.
Conducting and attending meetings.
Writing and submitting various reports.
Collecting and analyzing data.
Communicating findings.
Evaluating programs and policies.
Reviewing budgets.
Drafting reports policies and legislation.
Perform other related duties as required.
What are the hours and duration
Approximately 40 hours per week through the Summer and 20 hours per week during the school year.
What are the physical and environmental factors
This work requires remaining seated at a computer or desk for extended periods; frequent exposure to computers electronics electrical devices noise paper dust toner etc. Position may also require exposure to high-stress situations or environments including contact with the public in confrontational or uncomfortable circumstances.
What is the selection process
Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted with the first screening being held on January 5 2026. Applicants mustmeet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
