Job Duties
The VDOE Office of Human Resources is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Senior Classification & Compensation Analyst. The position is a Hourly/Wage position. Hourly/Wage employees may not work more than on average 29 hours a week and cannot exceed 1500 hours the wage employment year (5/1 - 4/30). This position does not include health insurance retirement or paid leave benefits.
This person will implement classification and compensation methods that effectively meet agency needs; review and analyze compensation action requests and ensure compliance with salary action plan requirements and internal equity.
This position will assist in the creation of EWP templates to ensure consistency and accurate benchmarking of positions for salary reviews and ensure equitable compensation across the agency.
This position will help ensure accurate and consistent FLSA practices amongst roles within VDOE and will support the agencys retention practices within a classification and compensation structure while ensuring DHRM/VDOE policy compliance.
The Classification and Compensation Analyst will provide direct assistance to HR staff and operational staff agency-wide on aspects of compensation management and job classification. The incumbent will serve as leader on large compensation and classification studies interprets and applies applicable policies and regulations and analyzes pay actions to identify trends and assess strengths and weaknesses in current systems/methods/training.
