Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Global Education and Outreach is responsible for the oversight and administration of several ongoing mobilization programs of the Office of Global Education and Outreach (GEO). GEO works collaboratively across campus to support efforts surrounding local outreach global outreach study abroad and experiential education. This position engages heavily with the Spiritual Formation Department and a variety of constituents including local and international partners students families faculty and staff. This position reports directly to the Dean of Student Success and Academic Services. Essential Functions: Administrative Oversight - Perform a broad range of daily administrative tasks and planning functions that include ongoing office management budget management and complex administrative work.
- Provide additional leadership and management to GEO student interns.
- Serve as a staff leader on domestic or international student trips as needed.
- Perform remote and/or in-person site evaluations with domestic and international partnerships as needed.
- Contribute to the growth and enhancement of the GEO office through certifications program creation and partnership development.
- Support the collaborative work with campus offices including Campus Ministries Disability Services Office of the Registrar Office of Student Engagement University Advancement Grants and Research Institute of Faculty Development and Alumni Relations to develop strategic programming for students surrounding experiential education.
- Promote and present outreach study abroad and experiential education opportunities to potential students and families through annual events including Pre-VU AcReg and Welcome Weekend.
- Maintain comprehensive policies and procedures and risk mitigation for experiential education local and global outreach and study abroad programs and provide suggestions for changes on an annual basis.
Spiritual Formation Partnership - Participate in strategic planning sessions with the Spiritual Formation Department to contribute towards cohesive goals and initiatives that foster holistic student and spiritual development.
- Attend and contribute to weekly Spiritual Formation Department staff meetings and chapel gatherings.
- Provide logistical support for identified partnerships that advance increased student engagement in local and global outreach.
- Collaborate with the Spiritual Formation Department in chapel planning providing targeted support for mobilization efforts that leverage chapel speakers themes and annual weeks (e.g.: developing dates/times of organized outreach opportunities and streamlined chapel credit tracking/reporting).
- Serve as administrative point for the Spiritual Formation Department outreach teams/programs that foster spiritual development and contribute towards university recruitment strategies.
- Lead an annual small group through the Spiritual Formation Department that gives specific focus on outreach.
Service Study Management - Serve as point of contact and provide daily leadership to areas of outreach study abroad and experiential education.
- Collaborate with offices and departments across campus providing logistical support of embedded outreach programming.
- Oversee the application processes data tracking and assessments for outreach and study abroad programs.
- Oversee the planning coordinating and implementing of all opportunities for local outreach global outreach study abroad and experiential education.
- Coordinate and lead training sessions as assigned for staff faculty and students surrounding travel related programs including the ongoing development of associated training materials.
- Coordinate and execute all logistics of events and activities related to local/global outreach study abroad and experiential education.
- Maintain accurate data collection surrounding study and service programming including skilled emphasis on financial and records management.
Minimum Qualifications: - Vibrant belief in Jesus Christ with ample evidence of personal discipleship.
- Education: B.A. in counseling psychology cross-cultural ministry student development communication organizational leadership or related field. A masters degree is preferred.
- 3 years of relevant higher education experience.
- Experience collaborating with administration faculty and staff as well as successful leadership and team management experience.
- Alignment with and enthusiastic embrace of the mission principles and philosophies of Vanguard University and a lifestyle in consonance with its values. Ability to sign and align with the statement of faith of Vanguard University.
- Project management and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy and proficiency on the Microsoft Office Suite and various analysis programs.

Salary: This is a full-time FLSA exempt position. $65000 to $71000 (Annually) Placement within the salary range is commensurate upon education and experience. Posted salary range reflects anticipated hiring scale for the position. Placement at the upper range is reserved for those that demonstrate the highest level of education and experience necessary for this position.
