Introduction

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has more than fifteen community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.

Responsibilities

Your will be responsible to:

  • Ensure proper maintenance and administration of field offices which includes safety and security housekeeping and maintenance;
  • coordinate with different project leads regarding project admin issues in Sindh region;
  • provide admin support in the planning organizing and executing various events of the department in Sindh region;
  • ensure that supplies inventory and stock are distributed properly as per the requirement of project activities; also monitor that proper records have been maintained;
  • coordinate with Karachi office for procurement of items and take follow ups;
  • supervise and manage transport arrangements as per requirement of field sites in Sindh;
  • make sure that proper records are maintained in log books;
  • supervise the drivers and assign them duties accordingly;
  • deal with security related issues of all field sites offices outside Karachi;
  • deal with all the political issues and liaison with community stake holders for proper commencement of project activities;
  • coordinate with HR for all HR related services for field sites;
  • responsible for resolving all work related conflicts and disciplinary issues;
  • monitoring the attendance of all field staff;
  • ensure that the advance issued for field expenses are properly utilized;
  • responsible for maintaining proper Petty Cash records and its utilization;
  • overall supervision of field office to ensure proper compliance of policies and smooth operations to facilitate commencement of project activities;
  • visit field sites for monitoring and audit purpose frequently.

Requirements

You should have:

  • Masters degree in Business/Economics/Administrative Sciences;
  • additional complementing diploma will be added advantage;
  • 5 to 7 years of work experience on Administrative position preferably in a Health Care Organization with at least 3 years of experience in managing field operations preferably in Sindh region;
  • excellent Communication and Supervisory skills;
  • proficiency in Sindhi language;
  • proficiency in computers especially MS Office;
  • resilience and ability to cope up with work pressure;
  • good negotiation and management skills;
  • willing to travel to field sites frequently;
  • excellent team Player.
