Job Summary

Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI is seeking a Climate Specialist to join our New York office and support the continued commercial expansion of our Climate solutions businessone of the most dynamic and strategically important areas within MSCI. We are looking for a candidate with deep climate expertise including hands-on experience with physical climate risk and professional experience at a bank financial institution or institutional investor.

This is a client-facing commercially oriented role that works in close partnership with MSCIs sales and relationship management teams to position demonstrate and support the adoption of MSCIs industry-leading Climate solutions. You will play a central role in driving client engagement product usage and revenue opportunities by translating complex climate research into clear actionable value for clients and prospects.

A key aspect of this role involves working directly with MSCI clients to help them leverage our Climate analytics across asset classes and investment risk and regulatory objectives. You will build strong relationships with clients understand their priorities and guide them in integrating MSCIs Climate capabilities into their workflowsultimately supporting retention expansion and new business development.

You will also collaborate extensively with MSCIs Climate Research and Product teams sharing structured client feedback and market insights to ensure our research and product roadmap aligns with evolving market needs. This is a tremendous opportunity to play an active role in the growth and direction of one of MSCIs most exciting areas combining deep subject-matter expertise with high-impact commercial responsibilities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a domain expert for MSCIs Climate solutions in client-facing and pre-sales engagements.
  • Partner with relationship managers and sales teams to support new business development renewal processes and account expansion opportunities.
  • Engage directly with clients to help them understand and implement MSCI Climate analytics including physical and transition risk methodologies.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations workshops and training sessions that support commercial objectives.
  • Respond to client inquiries and coordinate resolution with servicing product and research teams.
  • Support commercial strategies across key financial segments such as banks insurers asset managers and asset owners.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for deeper product adoption helping drive revenue growth in partnership with sales teams.
  • Collaborate closely with MSCI Climate Research and Product teams to provide client-driven insights that inform product development and roadmap prioritization.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Strong understanding of investing and financial markets with the ability to connect climate insights to commercial and client priorities.
  • Deep climate expertise ideally including experience assessing or applying physical climate risk.
  • Experience working at a bank financial institution or institutional investor with an understanding of how climate considerations influence investment and risk processes.
  • Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage institutional clients.
  • Commercially oriented client-focused mindset with a passion for contributing to business growth.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives independently in a fast-paced sales-driven environment.
  • Collaborative team player who can work effectively across sales research product and client service functions.
  • Highest standards of personal and business integrity.
  • 7 years of experience ideally in a client-facing commercial or analytical role related to climate sustainability or financial services.
  • Bachelors degree required Masters degree preferred
