Job Summary:
The Tailwind Hospitality Employee Relations Specialist plays a critical role in responding to and supporting employees who have workplace concerns ensuring they feel heard respected and supported. This position partners closely with location management to strengthen their ability to engage employees productively address issues proactively and cultivate a positive work environment. The role also oversees employee relations matters conflict resolution and policy compliance ensuring fair consistent practices that reinforce Tailwinds inclusive and engaging culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for employee relations matters ensuring prompt and effective resolution of workplace concerns.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on company policies procedures and best practices.
- Investigate employee complaints conflicts and grievances recommending solutions that align with company values and legal compliance.
- Maintain detailed and confidential documentation of employee relations cases investigations and resolutions.
- Support performance management processes including coaching disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local labor laws staying updated on changes that may impact company policies. Provide training and education to managers/supervisors in the areas of compliance as assigned by the Human Resources Director.
- Assist in developing and implementing employee engagement programs to enhance morale and retention.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to recommend improvements in workplace culture and policies.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership to develop training programs focused on conflict resolution workplace ethics and effective communication.
- Promote a workplace environment aligned with Tailwind Concessions values and mission.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and significant relevant experience may be considered in place of formal education
- 2 years of experience handling internal investigations is required.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws labor relations and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment:
- This position operates in a fast-paced environment that supports over sixty locations in more than thirty states requiring flexibility and adaptability.
- This position will require up to 25% travel to our locations. You must have the ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
Additional Considerations:
- This position operates in a hybrid work environment combining in-office and remote work based on business needs and supervisor approval.
- Satisfactory TSA background check will be required if travelling on behalf of the company
