Plans and implements the hospitals program of Quality Improvement (QI) activities by coordinating all aspects of Quality and performance improvement. Plans and implements patient safety and accreditation activities providing reports to hospital committees. Serves as hospitals representative to accrediting and various regulatory agencies. Serves as leader for the organizations performance improvement activities providing analysis of data and recommendations for improvement for medical staff clinical and non-clinical areas in collaboration with respective leaders. Manages staff departmental budget and hospital initiatives within assigned areas.
Education and Training
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio or current multi state RN licensure recognized by the State of Ohio required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio or current multi state RN licensure recognized by the State of Ohio required.
- BSN required/masters in related field preferred.
- Certified Professional in Health care Quality (CPHQ) is preferred. Must obtain CPHQ certification within 18 months of position.
Experience
- Five (5) years Quality Improvement experience.
- Three (3) years progressive management experience.
- Two (2) years experience with accreditation preferred.
- Two years of recent quality improvement activities.
Other Skills Competencies and Qualifications
- Ability to use independent judgment and access medical record documentation objectively and professionally.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with Medical Staff at all levels.
- Ability to integrate multiple job tasks and criteria in an organized and efficient manner.
- Must maintain confidentiality of patient and physician information in all aspects of review activities.
- Ability to effectively abstract summarize format and utilize statistical findings for review by medical staff committees and administration.
