Job Summary

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment for both domestic and overseas candidates providing staffing solutions to hospitals nursing homes home care and community care facilities across Ireland and abroad.

We are currently hiring Clinical Nurse Manager 2- Endoscopy Unit to join a reputed hospital in Dublin Ireland.

Responsibilities


  • Demonstrate professional and clinical leadership that promotes efficiency innovation teamwork and continuous quality improvement.

  • Lead and actively participate in internal and external audits and accreditation processes including JAG JCI and HIQA.

  • Take responsibility for staff rostering to ensure an appropriate and equitable skill mix allocating resources efficiently in collaboration with the Clinical Facilitator and CNM 1 based on clinical demand and available resources.

  • Manage all Endoscopy lists in accordance with the Endoscopy schedule ensuring optimal utilisation and appropriate staffing; any additional list requests must be authorised by CNM 2.

  • Empower staff through effective communication encouraging regular feedback and engagement.

  • Ensure all staff remain compliant with mandatory training requirements and are facilitated to attend training with appropriate support for ongoing learning and development.

  • Ensure all policies and procedures are current implemented consistently and adhered to within the unit.

  • Support and plan continual professional development for all staff members.

  • Exercise sound clinical judgement in patient care referring appropriately to other CNM staff medical teams and relevant disciplines as required.

  • Proactively direct the nursing team to maintain effective two-way communication and foster a culture of innovation improvement and patient-centred care.

  • Ensure consultants instructions are implemented to deliver safe and effective pre-operative intra-operative and post-operative patient care.

  • Promote effective collaboration within the multidisciplinary team.

  • Maintain accurate daily and weekly records using the Time and Attendance Management system including attendance leave absenteeism and bank hours for payroll processing.

  • Take a proactive approach to developing clinical and managerial skills in collaboration with the Clinical Facilitator while maintaining personal professional development.

  • Remain informed of developments in Endoscopy Nursing practice and apply relevant research and evidence in line with unit and hospital policy.

  • Supervise and promote high standards of professionalism including adherence to policies on attendance confidentiality dress code and professional conduct.

  • Ensure all nursing and non-nursing duties are performed safely professionally and to a high standard.

  • Foster positive working relationships and manage conflict constructively focusing on resolution of issues rather than personal differences.

  • Utilise and manage relevant IT systems including Endoscopy EndoRADD and PiMS systems as required.

  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients staff and visitors.

  • Proactively safeguard the physical safety and wellbeing of patients and staff at all times.

  • Comply with medication management policies ensuring the safe storage administration and documentation of controlled drugs.

  • Liaise closely with Infection Prevention and Control services to minimise the risk of hospital-acquired infection.

  • Engage with key stakeholders to ensure hygiene and environmental standards are maintained.

  • Report investigate and take appropriate corrective action in response to adverse incidents in accordance with policy.

  • Implement and monitor equipment and disinfection checklists ensuring faulty or damaged equipment is promptly removed for repair or replacement.

  • Actively promote best practice and manage quality and safety standards at unit level to ensure high-quality patient-centred care.

  • Embrace change and support the implementation of evidence-based practice.

  • Manage stock control to ensure adequate supplies are maintained within the Endoscopy Unit at all times.

  • Support the induction of new staff and participate in performance management and appraisal processes in collaboration with other CNM staff.

  • Liaise with the hospital decontamination lead to ensure compliance with decontamination standards and recommended practices.

  • Deputise for the Endoscopy Manager as required.

  • Communicate effectively in English both written and verbal in line with the requirements of the role.

  • Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role as assigned from time to time.



  • Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible for registration with NMBI.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of JCI JAG or other relevant accreditation and quality assurance systems.

  • A minimum of five years post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting within the past nine years.

  • At least two years experience in a specialist area such as Endoscopy or relevant experience in Day Surgery Theatre Medical or Gastrointestinal Nursing.

  • Proven experience of working effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

  • Completion of a recognised post-registration qualification relevant to the role (e.g. Management) or a commitment to undertake such education within an agreed timeframe.

  • Required Skills:
