DSHS DVR Fiscal Analyst 2
Join our team in Lacey WA as a Fiscal Analyst 2 within the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). In this role you will work under minimal supervision to gather analyze and interpret financial data consulting and coordinating with staff to support the divisions operations. You will be responsible for monitoring contracted payments ensuring compliance with federal grant and state travel rules and collaborating with DVR staff DSHS finance personnel and vendors. Your work will play a key role in maintaining fiscal accountability and supporting the divisions mission to provide high-quality vocational rehabilitation services.

Some of what youll do:

  • Analyze and interpret financial data to ensure purchases and payments comply with Washington State DSHS and DVR policies and procedures.
  • Manage client purchase cards including reconciliation documentation audits and tracking.
  • Process batch and audit administrative payments refunds canceled warrants and vendor invoices maintaining fiscal tracking tools.
  • Recommend fiscal controls and process improvements support internal controls and assist with fiscal year-end close and projects.
  • Coordinate purchasing and supply orders for the office ensuring cost-effective and accurate receipt of goods and services.
  • Arrange and track travel for staff including reservations authorizations and payment processing while ensuring compliance with applicable policies.
  • Provide administrative and fiscal support including maintaining SharePoint and shared folders training staff coordinating projects and serving as the primary fiscal inbox contact.

Desired skills knowledge and abilities:
  • Knowledge of Office of Financial Management requirements State Administrative and Accounting Manual standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Proficiency with the Agency Financial Reporting System Enterprise Reporting and Microsoft Office applications including advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data perform accurate calculations identify discrepancies and present findings clearly.
  • Experience applying fiscal accountability principles budget regulations and financial guidelines when recommending or committing resources.
  • Ability to interpret and apply applicable laws rules and regulations.
  • Strong organizational time management and prioritization skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills professionalism integrity and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Who should apply
We are searching for professionals with:
  • A Bachelors degree that includes at least 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting auditing or budgeting and one to two years of relevant professional experience.
  • A Masters degree in a finance-related field or professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Certified Government
    Financial Manager (CGFM) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) which can substitute for professional experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience totaling six or more years

Additional information:
  • Work schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
  • This is a hybrid position. The selected candidate will work on-site three days per week to assist with the units phone pool with the remaining work performed remotely.
