The Department Neurosurgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center are seeking an outstanding Neuroethicist. This position will be responsible for the development of the Neuroethics Unit across ODonnell Brain Institute include developing and growing a research program in research ethics including (a) collaborative as well as (b) original research; (c) a robust research ethics consultation program from advising investigator-based research to institutional ethics planning; (d) research ethics education and mentoring of junior faculty and trainees; and (e) proactive ethics planning for emerging technologies and research methodologies and related institutional challenges. The successful candidate will have an MD and/or PhD in Bioethics Law or Social Science; excellent record of quality scholarship and teaching; significant research experience to facilitate and enhance competitive federal grant submissions and establish robust extramural funding; and ability to work effectively to direct interdisciplinary collaboration and lead investigators conducting may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
