Job Summary

We are looking for a Prompt Engineer to design test and optimize prompts and workflows for large language models (LLMs). The role focuses on improving the accuracy reliability and usefulness of AI-generated outputs across business technical and customer-facing use cases. You will work closely with product engineering data and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective AI interactions.

Responsibilities and Duties

Design write and iterate prompts for large language models to achieve consistent and high-quality outputs
Develop prompt frameworks templates and reusable patterns for different use cases (classification summarization extraction reasoning generation)
Test and evaluate model responses identifying failure cases bias hallucinations and performance gaps
Optimize prompts using techniques such as few-shot learning chain-of-thought role prompting and tool-based prompting
Collaborate with software engineers to integrate prompts into applications APIs and workflows
Work with product and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into AI behavior
Document prompt strategies best practices and evaluation results
Stay current with advancements in LLM capabilities limitations and prompt engineering techniques
Support A/B testing and experimentation to continuously improve AI performance

Qualifications and Skills

Strong written communication skills in English
Experience working with large language models (e.g. GPT-style models Claude LLaMA or similar)
Understanding of natural language processing concepts and limitations of generative AI
Ability to think analytically and systematically about language instructions and edge cases
Experience testing and evaluating AI outputs against qualitative and quantitative criteria

Preferred qualifications

Background in software engineering data science linguistics cognitive science or technical writing
Experience with Python JavaScript or similar languages for prompt testing and automation
Familiarity with AI evaluation methods prompt versioning and experimentation frameworks
Experience working with APIs and AI platforms
Knowledge of responsible AI practices bias mitigation and prompt safety

Nice to have
Experience building internal AI tools or copilots
Exposure to RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) or tool/function calling
Experience supporting business domains such as customer support recruiting finance or healthcare
