Job Summary

Job Title: Texas Mathematics Academy Program Facilitator

FLSA Status: Exempt

Pay Grade: 105

Work Days: 226

Reports To: Coordinator of Instructional Services

Primary Purpose

To ensure the successful implementation of the HB 2 Texas Math Academies. Serve as Point of Contact (POC) with TEA and agree to meet all TEA-established assurances regarding program fidelity data reporting Cohort Leader support and learner completion. Serve as both operational and instructional leaders for the Texas Mathematics Academies within their service area. The specialist will build participant capacity in mathematics instruction and best practices to improve student learning outcomes across the region.

Education/Certification

  • Masters Degree
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification in mathematics or core subject (EC6 16 48 or K8)
  • Principal certification (preferred)

  • Communicates understanding of state and legal requirements for school systems
  • Exhibits mastery of a learning management system to enhance the learner experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to implement instructional practices that increase student achievement
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage self-directed projects
  • Ability to participate in and contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • Attend Cohort Leader Trainer sessions
  • Lead in-person or synchronous and asynchronous learning
  • Guide content discussion and provide feedback to learners
  • Create a community of mathematics educators
  • Provide individualized support through optional office hours and mandatory virtual coaching
  • Grade all participant artifact submissions
  • Provide feedback and additional support as needed to both Texas Mathematics Academy participants and Texas Mathematics Academy Cohort Leaders
  • Ensure fidelity of content delivery and program requirements

Experience

  • A minimum of five years of successful experience teaching mathematics (K8) is required.
  • Minimum of three years of successful leadership experience
  • Demonstrated successful experience in training teachers and/or other adults.
  • Three years of experience facilitating mathematics professional learning
  • Strong understanding of K5 TEKS and research-based instructional strategies

**This position may be partially or completely funded using grant and/or federal monies and is assigned programs to include activities designed to enhance the effective and coordinated use of funds.

  • Lead the Texas Mathematics Academy programming as required
  • Provide guidance and support to ESC personnel for grant and program integration
  • Coordinate with grant and state entities to ensure timely submission of required documentation
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members to ensure successful program implementation
  • Demonstrated ability to plan organize and manage multiple projects and timelines
  • Monitor cohort leaders and presenters to ensure fidelity of implementation and adherence to timelines and deliverables
  • Review checkpoint data and trends with presenters and cohort leaders; set and monitor improvement goals
  • Schedule training dates manage materials and coordinate logistics for face-to-face sessions
  • Build trust and communicate regularly with Texas Math Academy participants district coordinators and LEA representatives
  • Complete any requested compliance reports or grant reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and sound decision-making
  • Offer leadership and technical assistance to campuses districts and charter schools
  • Facilitate professional learning aligned with research-based instructional design and TEKS-based instruction
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of the Texas Mathematics Academy processes expectations and systems
  • Implement and adhere to all Texas Mathematics Academy timelines deliverables and state requirements
  • Project planning coordination and implementation

Computers projection devices control panels in meeting rooms printers productivity software software specific to the job assignment network resources internet resources and other hardware and software necessary to perform the functions of the job effectively and efficiently.

Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors)

Mental: Public relations and people skills are always required work with frequent interruptions and maintain professional composure and confidentiality under stress.

Physical: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours ability to move tables and chairs and load/unload boxes and materials. Prolonged use of a computer. Frequent region and state-wide travel.

Environmental: Open cubicles/workstations.

Evaluation

Annual performance evaluation will be performed in accordance with the adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment in this position is contingent upon performance need and funding
