BakerHostetler is seeking an experienced and dynamic Attorney Recruiting Manager to lead attorney hiring initiatives for our Atlanta and Orlando offices. Reporting directly to the Director of Recruiting this role is instrumental in advancing the firms strategic growth objectives and ensuring a best-in-class recruiting experience.
The ideal candidate is a proactive relationship-driven professional who can align talent acquisition strategies with the firms broader growth strategy while delivering operational excellence and exceptional candidate engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Talent Acquisition - Collaborate with Office Managing Partners and Practice Group Leaders to design and implement recruiting strategies that support the firms long-term business goals and strengthen its market position in the Southeast.
- Market Intelligence & Relationship Management - Build and maintain strong relationships with leading search firms and industry contacts to ensure a steady pipeline of high-caliber lateral candidates. Leverage market insights to guide recruiting priorities and enhance competitive positioning.
- End-to-End Recruitment Leadership - Manage the full lifecycle of lateral attorney hiringfrom sourcing and direct outreach to candidate engagement screening and offer negotiationwhile ensuring a seamless and professional experience for candidates and internal stakeholders.
- Interview Process Oversight - Coordinate all aspects of the interview process including scheduling feedback consolidation and decision facilitation. Advise leadership on candidate evaluation and offer development to secure top talent.
- Budget Management - Oversee recruiting budgets for the Atlanta and Orlando offices ensuring efficient resource allocation and compliance with firm processes.
- Law School Recruiting Strategy - Provide strategic direction for campus recruiting initiatives while supervising the Recruiting Coordinator in executing day-to-day activities such as OCI programs resume collections and outreach events.
- Summer Associate Program - Deliver strategic oversight for two summer associate programs ensuring alignment with talent development goals. Partner with the Recruiting Coordinator to manage work assignments mentorship pairings social programming and performance review processes.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Firmwide Recruiting leadership on Southeast-focused initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver confidential strategic communicationsincluding Policy Committee memosto support partner recruiting and executive decision-making.
- Lead coordination of hiring committee meetings ensuring timely delivery of critical materials for informed decisions.
- Support associate mentor program leaders in Atlanta and Orlando with professional development initiatives.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree required; minimum of 7 years of recruiting experience preferably in a law firm or legal search firm environment.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter and other attorney search tools; MS Office Suite required; familiarity with ViGlobal suite is a plus.
- Advanced interviewing techniques and strong understanding of attorney recruiting best practices.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Highest level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Strong attention to detail ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to anticipate and resolve issues efficiently.
